Radiological events in Ukraine for 2011:
Association of Radiologists of Ukraine (ARU), non-profitable, non-governmental public organization was established in 1991. It is the legal successor of the Ukrainian Society of Roentgenologists founded in 1936.
More than 6500 radiologists, including specialists in X-ray, CT, MRI, US diagnostics, intervention radiology, nuclear medicine, medical physics work in the field of radiodiagnostics in different medical institutions of Ukraine. Most of them are the members of the Association of Radiologists of Ukraine.
Association of Specialists in X-ray, CT and MRI, Ukrainian Association of Specialists in Ultrasound, Ukrainian Society of Specialists in Nuclear Medicine, Association of Endovascular Surgery and Interventional Radiology, Section of Medical Physics and Engineering, Ukrainian Society of Radiographers form the integral part of ARU with the rights of collective members. Ukrainian Doppler-Club and Center of X-Ray Technologies work and function along with ARU.
The main aims and objectives of ARU activity are the development and improvement of radiology in Ukraine; education and teaching of its member, young radiologists; legislation and radiation protection, cooperation with other national radiological societies, integration into the European and International radiology.
ARU is the full member of the European Association of Radiology and International Society of Radiology.
Annually ARU organizes and realizes several scientific-practical conferences on the most actual questions in X-ray, CT, MTI, US diagnostics, nuclear medicine, interventional radiology, medical physics. The congress of ARU with the participation of leading authorities in radiology from other countries is held once in three years and is the most important radiological event in Ukraine.
The official journal of ARU is "Promeneva Diagnostika, Promeneva Terapiya" ("Radiodiagnostics, Radiotherapy" ISSN 1993-1689), issued 4 numbers per year. Association of Specialists in X-ray, CT and MRI publishes monthly "Radiologichnyj visnyk" ("Radiology Bulletin" ISSN 1993-1743).
ARU constantly aspires to widen its professional and friendly contacts and communication with colleagues-radiologists in other countries, to change experience in application of new modern radiological methods.
Gradual transmission to digital X-ray technologies, permanent growth of modern X-ray, CT, MRI, US equipment quantity, development and improvement of educational programs for young radiologists, continuous cooperation and support of different radiological institutions, radiologists, professors in Europe and other countries insure further improvement of radiology in Ukraine.
