The Association of Radiologists of Ukraine (ARU) is independent, self-controlled, voluntary organization, which is registered in the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine in 1992. ARU is the legatee of the Ukrainian Republican Scientific Society of roentgenologists and radiologists founded in 1936. The basic purpose of ARU is the unification of the activity of its members to the creation of the optimum conditions for the multifold development of radiology in Ukraine, maximum realization of the creative potential of the experts, social-legal guard of the members of ARU, occupied in the area of roentgenology, radionuclear, ultrasonic, infrared and magnetic-resonance diagnostics, radiation therapy, radiation safety, nuclear and radiation medicine.
The number of ARU members - about 6000.
